These made in USA lawn flamingos were born in 1975 and quickly became a pop icon in the USA often used for "lawn greetings" to unsuspecting neighbors. In 1979 the slope of Bascom Hill at the University of Wisconsin-Madison was covered with 1008 plastic flamingos the morning of the first day of classes.

For 26 years in Austin Texas 1,000 flamingos have lived in front of a small garden shop at Bee Caves Road & Loop 360. The City of Austin tried to have the flamingos removed due to drivers getting into fender-benders from staring at the flamingos, but Austinites demanded that the flamingos stay as a part of the cities "Keep Austin Weird" identity.

These USA- made flamingos have a patented method of color attachment on plastic which makes them very weather resistant.
